The Baby Safety Alliance Verification Program is foundationally built on ASTM standards and the Baby Safety Alliance encourages all manufacturers to participate in the ASTM standard-setting process. Joining ASTM technical subcommittees allows participants to be involved in the process of improving existing standards and developing new standards as innovative products enter the marketplace. These standards, as developed with input from engineers, manufacturers, consumer advocates and consultants, ensure the safety of products that the US consumer population has come to rely on. Get Involved in ASTM Involvement in this consensus-based activity is the best way that manufacturers can stay abreast of the changes being implemented, as well as helping guide the process so that individual products will remain in compliance. ASTM standards are not only the foundation of The Baby Safety Alliance Verification Program but also of the federal requirements pertaining to juvenile products, known as Section 104 Rules. Baby product manufacturers may join ASTM under the F15 Technical Committee for Consumer Products. Subcommittees exist for product category. Want to learn more or join ASTM? Visit the ASTM website or contact Molly Lynyak, Manager, Technical Committee Operations.
