Lisa Trofe, CAE, formerly JPMA Managing Director, will lead the organization as the industry faces a challenging regulatory environment, continued industry consolidation and the need for new programs that advance baby safety MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — The JPMA Board of Directors announced today that JPMA Executive Director, Kelly Mariotti, JD, CPA, CAE is moving on to pursue the next phase of her career as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). The board is pleased to have named Lisa Trofe, CAE as JPMA’s new Executive Director.
Trofe was previously JPMA’s Managing Director. In this role, she oversaw the association’s government affairs function as well as membership, education and product safety programming, including the JPMA Certification program, which certifies 2,500+ juvenile products in 30 product categories annually.
Lisa actively engages with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to support the juvenile product industry and is responsible for much of the association’s regulatory and legislative agenda. Serving as an industry spokesperson, she has spoken at national conferences including The JPMA Show, ICPHSO and ICE, as well as testifying before Congressional committees and appearing on national and local media outlets.
Lisa serves on the ICPHSO Program Planning Committee, is a Certified Association Executive and holds graduate certificates in Product Safety Management and Advanced Product Safety Management from the John Cook School of Business at St. Louis University. Lisa also serves on the Society of Product Safety Professionals (SPSP) Board of Directors.
“Lisa’s background and expertise makes her a natural choice as JPMA’s next Executive Director,” said Sean Beckstrom, Chairman of the JPMA Board of Directors. “She is well-positioned to advance the industry’s most pressing issues including sleep safety, tariffs, counterfeit products and chemicals regulation. The board is confident in her ability to keep pushing the industry forward as we continue to provide the safest products possible to parents and caregivers.”
Beckstrom also noted that “the ease of this transition is facilitated by JPMA’s longtime association management partner, Association Headquarters, and AH’s commitment to developing staff and ensuring continuity of service for its client partners.”
Kelly Mariotti served as Executive Director of JPMA for more than eight years, establishing and executing a long-range plan to ensure enhanced relevance and sustainability for the Association, and tackling a number of unprecedented industry challenges.
“Kelly’s work has set JPMA up for continued success and we are grateful for her commitment and contributions over the years,” said Beckstrom. “We look forward to seeing what Kelly does in her next role at AHAM – they are lucky to have her.”
