The availability of accurate data is essential to product safety. Voluntary and mandatory standards development and voluntary recalls, requires the use of robust and unbiased data.  

Currently, CPSC is not forthcoming with the data it collects. It often requires the stakeholders to seek the information through a Freedom of Information Inquiry, a process that is expensive and can be a very extended one.

Please join the Hon. Ann Marie Buerkle on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 2pm EDT about a strategy for obtaining the necessary data in a timelier and more transparent manner. It is a multi-faceted approach that will help to solve this data challenge.
